Accordion Solitaire Help
Overview
Much like the musical instrument, which can be stretched and compressed, the objective of Accordion solitaire is to compress the spread-out deck found at the beginning of the game into one final pile with only the topmost card being visible. As you can imagine, Accordion solitaire can be a ridiculously difficult game to win using the standard rules; our version provides you with some customizable options to give you a fighting chance.
Layout
When the game opens, the entire deck is spread out in one horizontal row. (If the cards seem to “fall” off the screen, you’ll need to adjust your screen size in the options menu until they all fit. The game is hard enough without working with a full deck, if you know what we’re saying).
Moving Cards
To progress the game and compress the stack, move cards from right to left by placing them on top of other cards in the stack that have the same suit or rank. To move a card, select it (which will highlight the card) and then click on the card you would like it to cover.Standard rules allow cards to be placed on top of the cards immediately to the left or three cards to the left (so that there are two cards in between the top and soon-to-be bottom card. Once moved, all the cards beneath (or, rather, behind) the card will travel with it, thus compressing the stack with every move.
The allowed intervals can be adjusted in the options menu.
Options The options menu will provide the following options:
- Allowed Moves: You can choose the allowed distances that a card can be moved, up to six cards to the left. Selecting all the boxes will allow you to move the card to any of the six cards immediately to its left. Obviously, the more boxes you check, the higher the likelihood you will emerge victorious.
- Displaying the Timer: You can choose whether or not to be judged by the clock.
- Screen Size: Screen size is fairly crucial in this game. You can adjust the size as necessary to get a full view of the cards. Adjusting the screen size will change the distance between the cards, allowing you to get a better look at them.
