    Sporting Bet shamed at CAC 2005 in Las Vegas

    Well, I went to the CAC 2005 in Las Vegas. I thoroughly enjoyed it, as I do all CAC conferences, and you can bet that I will be in Amsterdam for the April conference. There were in excess of 650 people attending this year. The exhibition hall was full and some booths had spilled out into the hallway. I am not sure how many affiliate programs were exhibiting but there were lots of them.

    Casino Affiliate Programs - how to choose

    There are so many flashy programs out ther promising the moon – picking the ones you want to promote is a daunting task anymore. Even large, established affiliates who have been in the business for years have trouble keeping the right properties on their site. First of all, you need to be able to trust the program.     Referback in Breach of Contract

    Well, things have been going round and round. The latest news is that both Wager junction and Partnerlogic have retracted their retroactive changes and are now no longer in breach of contract. Fortune and Vegas Partners have said they would retract the retroactive changes and we are waiting until this coming week to find out if they did.

    U.S. Has Until April to Fix Gambling Ban August 20, 2005 The date given to the United States by a World Trade Organization arbitrator is April 3rd. By that date, the US is to put an end to dicrimination against foreign online betting companies. This is in response to a complaint filed by the Caribbean island of Antigua. On April 7 the judges at the WTO ruled that a ban the US is trying to establish to enforce “the morals of the public” is not acceptable.

    Affiliates - be careful!

    Lately we have had several programs change their Terms and Conditions retroactively – always with the intent of cutting affiliate pay. The ways our pay is being cut: Bundling: A program has several independent casinos. Heretoforth, they have considered each casino a seperate unit, so if you had a negative balance at a couple, it would not affect the positive balance you have on others. Bundling throws all these casinos in one pot – one negative can wipe out all your income.
