Blackjack Rules - Like 'em or Leave!

I don't know about you, but I like to get what I want. So when I go to the mall and see the food court, if I go to the Burger King and don't see a meatball sub on the menu, I may just walk over to the next concessionaire and get it at Subway. Well, roughly the same thing applies when you're in a place like Las Vegas, and on the internet too.

I distinctly remember sitting at a table in Las Vegas, next to someone who was complaining that after splitting a pair, the casino didn't allow him to split again. And I'm saying to myself, "Why is this guy here? There are a hundred other places he can go where he can do whatever he wants to do."

If you don't LIKE the game, don't PLAY the game. If the rules are not to your liking, there is nothing that says you have to play with them. I'm a great believer in shopping around. In Vegas, for example, you can find almost any rules you want, if you're looking for something specifically. If you're looking for a place where surrender is available, you're likely to find it. You may have to give up something on the other end, of course, like when I went into one Vegas casino a few months ago and found single deck tables, which is a good thing for a card counter, only to discover that "naturals" (two-card 21's) only paid 6/5 as opposed to the customary 3/2, which is a bad thing for ANY player.

If you don't like what's being offered, go somewhere else and find what you want. Don't torture yourself with another excuse for losing.
