European Blackjack

European Blackjack

The difference in European Blackjack from the other Blackjack games is minor with one major exception.  The dealer is only dealt one card.  The second card is not dealt until your play action is completed and it's the dealers turn.  Rules for this game are:

  • The Dealer is dealt one card until all play is finished and their turn begins.
  • 6 decks are used and shuffled before each game.
  • Payout for Blackjack is 3:2
  • Dealer stands on 17 (hard and soft).
  • Ties on all hands are a Push.
  • You can only double on a 9, 10 or 11.
  • You can double after splitting.
  • You can only split once.
  • You can draw on split Aces
  • Insurance is an option (not recommended).

Familiarize yourself with the odds for this game.  The fact that the second card isn't dealt to the dealer until after your hand is complete calls for a different strategy from the standard Blackjack game.
