    Microgaming Casinos Stop Game Play from US Players

    If you live in the USA and play online games at one or more Microgaming casinos, you will no longer be accepted starting June 1st, 2010, for any type of game play. Many US players with existing Microgaming casino accounts will no longer be able to play their online games. However, as of May 17, 2010, CasinoShare US online casino will offer most of the Microgaming software games to US players, minus the progressives, new games, and several others.

    22 Congressman Sign PPA Petition

    To a lot of online poker players, dark clouds are on the horizon as June 1st, the day the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act regulations go into effect, is fast approaching. The Poker Players Alliance is still fighting though and has petitioned the U.S. Treasury Department and Federal Reserve Board to clarify the definition of illegal gambling so that it does not include peer to peer games based on skill like poker.

    Microgaming No Longer Accepting U.S. Game Play

    An important announcement as just been released by Microgaming. As of June 1st, 2010 this online software will no longer accept any game play by U.S. players. U.S. players referred by an affiliate to the Players Palace Casino using the Commission Warehouse affiliate program are also included in this new arrangement.

    May 19th Set For Online Gambling Hearing

    The House Ways and Means Committee had announced a hearing on tax issues concerning possible changes to the online gambling laws in the United States. The Hearing is scheduled for May 19th. UIGEA, better known as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is set to go into effect June 1.     Poker Player Alliance to Rally in Olympia

    Lee Rousso, the Poker Players Alliance Washington State’s Director is trying to overturn a Washington State law that makes playing online poker a Class C felony; a Class C felony is equivalent to child pornography and heroin possession. Rousso’s argument is that the law violates the Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution.

    Canadian Man Pleads Guilty in U.S. Online Gambling Charge

    Douglas Rennick, a Canadian man, has pleaded guilty to a count of processing offshore bets of U.S. citizens. Originally Rennick was looking at a charge of conspiracy and bank fraud. He had allegedly laundered $350 million dollars for overseas internet gambling companies. Rennick was indicted in August and on Tuesday entered a guilty plea to the one charge in New York Federal court. Part of the plea was forfeiting $17.1 million and a possible prison term of 6-12 months.
