    Sandra Naujoks takes home EPT Dortmund Championship

    Vicky Coren had to relinquish her title of being the only female to win an EPT event when Sandra Naujoks won the EPT Dortmund main event over the weekend, taking home €917,000. This EPT event was sponsored by PokerStars, lasted for 5 days and had an entry fee of €5,300. The next stop for the EPT will be EPT SAN REMO, which is located in north-western Italy.

    PokerStars welcomes their 20 millionth player

    PokerStars has just broken the 20,000,000 player mark. This is quite a feat, considering that just 3 years ago they were celebrating the 5,000,000 milestone. The lucky member “piposko” signed up on Feb. 21st, and was given a $215 tournament ticket just for joining and being their 20 millionth player! How’s that for class? You have to love PokerStars!     World Series of Poker Circuit event kicks off March 4th in Atlantic City

    Starting March 4th, Caesars Atlantic City will be kicking off another WSOP (World Series of Poker) Circuit Event. With 11 events and millions of dollars up for grabs, this will be the place to play during this 11 day marathon of poker. The Main Event is scheduled for March 12th and runs for 3 days. Events #8 (Turbo NLHE), #10 (Turbo NLHE) and #11 (Ladies NLHE) are 1-day events and the rest are 2 day events.

    PokerStars, home of the tournament series “WCOOP,” (World Championship of Online Poker) introduces the SCOOP (Spring Championship of Online Poker) which starts April 2nd.     North Carolina Judge Tossed Out Ban On Video Poker Machines

    In North Carolina today Judge Manning tossed out the ban on video poker machines. These machines were taken out of all places in North Carolina when the UIGEA Bill was passed in 2006. RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina can’t legally ban video poker machines while also allowing the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to operate the games on their lands within the state, a state court judge ruled late Thursday.

    Judge in South Carolina Rules Poker is a Skill Game

    Looks like South Carolina is following some other states by ruling Texas Hold’em Poker is a game of skill. This ruling stops the police from incarcerating people that play a a game of poker. Judge Larry Duffy, Mount Pleasant judge stated and wrote that there is “overwhelming” evidence that the game is not a chance game but one of skill.

    Judge in Penn, Rules Poker is Skill Game

    This is what we have been saying all along, and finally a Judge agrees. COLUMBIA COUNTY, Pennsylvania -— As reported by Poker News Daily: “In a ruling handed down by Pennsylvania Judge Thomas A. James Jr. in Columbia County on Friday, it was ruled that Texas Hold’em is a game of skill and therefore not gambling under state law. The ruling sets an ‘excellent bar’ for future poker litigation, according to Poker Players Alliance (PPA) Executive Director John Pappas.

    Asian Poker Ambassador, JC Tran, wins PartyPoker's Premier League III

    JC Tran has won yet another title. This time it was PartyPoker‘s Premier League III, winning $300,000. Although Tran went into the final table as chip leader, his opponents were certainly not fish! With the likes of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event champion Peter Eastgate, Tony G, Roland de Wolfe, Juha Helppi and Tom Dwan (better known as Durrr), JC Tran had a long road ahead of him. The first victim to get knocked out was Peter Eastgate, followed by Roland de Wolfe and Tom Dwan.
