    Shuffle Master recently rescinded its offer to purchase the Ongame Poker Network from citing that evaluations of Ongame’s operations would require more effort and money than anticipated to achieve Shuffle Master’s required results. It’s your typical story of iGaming company meets available poker network, offers to buy it, and then dumps it months later for being too high maintenance (and not putting out enough).

    PokerStars Awarded Spanish Gaming License

    PokerStars can now officially operate their online poker room in Spain, thanks to license they were awarded recently. Quickly following the license announcement came the launch of the new, a poker room dedicated to Spanish online poker players. If you reside in Spain, you will be given the option to either open up a new account with the Spanish PokerStars on your own or get assistence in doing so.

    Cake Network Undergoes a Revolution

    As of June 1, 2012, the Cake Poker Network re-established itself under a new brand: Revolution Gaming Network. In a May 7th press release Cake Network announced that it was in the process of selling certain assets to Lock Poker, indicating that the maneuver would allow Lock to rebrand Cake Network, and it would provide all Network partners, poker rooms, and online poker players the chance to participate in the growing Revolution Gaming Network. The change is now in place at member poker rooms.

    Purple Lounge Poker Bids Farewell to Microgaming

The move to Entraction (the online poker software powered by heavy-hitter IGT) was, as the Purple Lounge website puts it, part of its “evolution”. “Entraction means pure poker with more fish,” claims Purple Lounge, and the game list backs up this description.

    Bodog is now Bovada: How Poker Players Will Be Affected

    It seems all the speculation has been proven true: Bodog is re-branding for US-players. Since the Bodog Brand licensing agreement with the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group expires at the end of 2011, MMGG will no longer be operating under the Bodog name or the website. As of today, the operation-formerly-known-as-Bodog is now branded as Bovada. What does this mean for the thousands of online poker players loyal to Bodog? Essentially nothing.
