We are just at the end of the summer, but already hear, louder than ever, the sounds of jingle bells! Booongo, with its release titled Lucky Xmas reminded us how wintertime can be wonderful. It’s not all about cold weather, short days and long nights, warm clothes, and other “joys” of that time of the year, something is about presents, a festive atmosphere, and beautifully decorated streets. We are looking forward to Christmas, are you? 

Theme and Design

Lucky Xmas is set right in the heart of Santa’s present factory at the North Pole. This 5 reel and 3-row machine with 40 fixed paylines show us an icy, blue background with a semi-visible industrial unit where the kids' dreams are coming true. In the central part of the screen, is a Christmasy slot playing ground, framed in mistletoe. 

The general appearance of this Booongo slot machine is attractive; however, we would be lying if we said we have never seen a better-looking Christmas slot. Since Christmas is the time when the weather is cold, but the hearts are warm, we would appreciate seeing some warmer colors besides icy blue, and tons of white. The symbols aren’t as sweet as they could be, also. Toys and pretty scary-looking Wild symbols. 

Regarding the technical quality of visuals, the situation is fine. The graphics are good, and the game runs smoothly. Hand on the heart, everything else regarding the appearance of a certain game is only a matter of personal taste.

Betting Options

To score a win, players must land down the reels at least three matching symbols. The size of the reward depends on the value of the symbols, and the volume of the placed bet, as well. The betting scale starts at 0.40 in the selected currency, going up to a maximum of 200 per round. AutoPlay button is a huge help for the players who aren’t in the game just to exercise their fingers but grab some nice Christmas presents, and it’s located at the right side of the reels.

Our Take 

Rather average Christmas-inspired slot by Booongo. Average in every aspect: the visuals aren’t WOW, nor are the extra features. However, the simplicity of this game is what’s making it so special. Let’s face it: you will be playing this only around Christmas. You don’t want to bang your head, during holidays, about complicated rules and unfamiliar features. So, looking from that side, this “unexciting” release is actually what you need for slow winter afternoons.
