Days of Our Slots
Soap operas are some of the most popular television shows of the past several decades. Along these lines, it's no surprise that Arrow's Edge decided to make a game called Days of Our Slots, a play on the title of one of the most popular soap operas of all time: Days of Our Lives. In this game, you'll find a solid bit of gameplay with a solid progressive jackpot and a lot of the themes and concepts that you find from modern soap operas.
To start things off, this game uses a solid layout that's tried and true. It uses five reels with three rows of symbols and a set of 25 paylines. Players can choose bet sizes ranging from $0.25 to $250 per spin, and this is like betting with coins ranging from $0.01 to $10 apiece. Obviously, this is plenty of room for players at any level of stakes to enjoy themselves. You'll also notice on the controls that you can play with fewer than the maximum of 25 paylines, but we don't recommend this because it impacts your ability to hit the bonus features.
Main Symbols and Payouts
There are six major characters shown in this game. Five of them make up the major set of symbols, and Arrow's Edge has done a good job of picking up all of the typical stock characters that you see in soap operas. The highest-paying symbol is Brittney, a blonde with a pink background. She gives you 1,500x for five of a kind and 750x for three. She also pays for as low as two of a kind, and she's the only major symbol to do so.
Connor is the young man with the light green background, and he pays 1,000x for five of a kind. Elizabeth is the redhead with the blue background with a 750x top win for five of a kind, and Yvette is the redhead maid with the purple background, who also gives 750x for five of a kind. Finally, we have the patriarch Richard, an older man with a light blue background, and he will give you 500x for a set of five on an activated payline.
Six minor symbols are available in this game. The A symbol pays 250x for five of a kind, and that's a pretty reasonable payout for a low-end symbol. The K, Q and J all pay 150x for five of a kind as well. Even the lowest two symbols, the 10 and 9, pay 100x for five of a kind, and those are decent enough wins. Additionally, the 9 symbol can win with just two of a kind, though it's the only minor symbol to do so, and this is for a 2x payout.
Scatters and Features
Baby Emma is the sixth character in this game, and she's a blonde baby with a blue top and a pink background. She's the scatter in this game, and she pays for two of a kind or more on the reels. The top win here is five of a kind for 50 times the total bet size, and that comes to be the same as a 1,250x line bet win, so you're basically getting the second-highest regular win in the game with this scatter.
When three or more of Baby Emma shows up on the reels, you get to play a free spins bonus feature. This feature centers around Brittney going to a masquerade ball and trying to figure out which stole her family's fortune. Different characters take the place of masks in this feature, and that gives players a chance to get multipliers as high as 5x for the free spins. This is a cool way of pulling in the typical soap opera drama into this online slot. Players get ten free turns with unlimited re-triggering, and the multiplier affects all of the free spins earned.
Another bonus feature plays randomly at the end of any paid spin in the normal mode. You get 15 pictures to choose from where you're trying to pick out who the father of Brittney's baby is. The choice determines your payout, and this is a pretty hilarious bonus feature that really captures the drama of some of the storylines in these shows.
