The story of Humpty Dumpty gets a little weird when you consider that it never mentions that he's an egg, which is how he's commonly represented, but that doesn't matter in this slot by Push Gaming. This game uses the story of Humpty Dumpty as the background for an interesting bit of gameplay that includes a number of different features. The graphical style is different than what we normally see, and instead of going for a 3D approach like many other titles do these days, it uses a style of animation that looks a lot like older Disney movies, which only adds to the experience.

Format and Layout

This slot uses five reels, like most video slots, and three rows of symbols. You'll have 25 paylines to play with, and the bet sizes are chosen based on the total amount per spin. However, these correspond to equivalent coin sizes, so if you play for $25 per spin, for instance, that corresponds to $1 coins on each payline. The minimum prize per spin is $0.25, and the maximum is $100, and there are a total of 12 different bet sizes available. The interface is great, especially for mobile play, since it's clean and doesn't have a lot of controls lined up very close to each other, which can make them difficult to use during mobile play.

High-End Payouts

If you want to see what the top prizes look like in this Push Gaming (read more) title, then they're all about offering good payouts without compromising the balanced nature of the pay table as a whole. For example, the top regular prize is just 500x for five of the red king symbol. Four of a kind will get you 200x, and three gives you 100x, however, both of which are fairly high for lower wins of the best symbol.

The queen has a wine-colored background, and she pays 300x for five. You can also earn 100x for four of a kind or 50x for three. The guard with the purple background has the exact same set of payouts for each of the available wins as the queen. These are slightly higher than the 150x for five, 75x for four and 35x for three of a kind for the horse symbols. Along similar lines, the maid symbol on the blue background pays out the same way as the horses.

Low-Paying Wins

The A, K, Q, J and 10 symbols offer the smallest regular wins. You'll get 100x for five of the red A. The wine-colored K symbol and the purple Q symbol both pay 80x for five of a kind, and it's 50x for the blue J symbol and the green 10 symbol. Something that's interesting is that even the lowest three-of-a-kind wins pay 10x, so there are no borderline useless 2x, 3x or 5x type wins in this game, which is nice. This is a direct by-product of Push Gaming focusing on the balance of the pay table in this slot (more here).

Wild Symbols and Respins

The wilds show up on every reel, but they don't have their own payout. If you get at least one wild, you'll get a respin feature where the wilds move by one position. This is a cool feature that gives you more chances for multi-line wins that are responsible for the largest payouts available in the game.

Scatters and Free Spins

When Humpty Dumpty himself shows up and fills the middle reel, then you'll get six free spins. You can collect hearts on the reels during these free spins to get three on the same reel to cover that reel with wilds for the remainder of the bonus feature. This is an atypical way to add value to the free spins, but it's very effective.

Our Thoughts

With the Humpty Dumpty slot, you're getting a bit of an atypical approach to a game. It has some atypical ways of approaching its features, and they can seem a little awkward at first since they're not what most players will be used to. However, the high hit-rate and balanced pay table will help you to keep your bankroll relatively intact while you shoot for the features that can give you the biggest wins in the game.

Overall, this is a video slot that players should definitely give a shot, especially if they prefer titles with a low to medium volatility.
