WarPath

On the planet Kaladi, a beautiful utopia in a sea of devastated planets and lifeless stars, two separate alien races battle it out,
each coveting the planet for it's own.

Once a peaceful race the Ohm, a biomechanical race of fused flesh and machine, are now an aggressive race of nomads. The House of Kovos, a separate alien race, also joins the battle. Finally, the Human Coalition Army has come to Kaladi hoping to claim the planet as a place to live and perpetuate the human race. Your objective is to claim this beautiful planet rich in resources for your own. You may fight as the Ohm or the Human on this futuristic battlefield using futuristic alien weapons to frag your enemies. At the end of the game, the team or player with the most frags is declared the winner of the game.

Here's how to play: In order to select a race you must enter into My Account on the SkillGround website and then choose My Profile. In the My Profile section you will find a section for WarPath. Under WarPath, select the drop down menu next to the image on the left side and choose The Ohm if you would like to fight as Ohm or The Human if you would like to fight as Human. You may also choose the race that you would like to play as in the My Game Status dialog of the SkillGround game lobby.

Once you start playing WarPath, it will be important that you know all of the controls. Because this game is played on your computer there must be computer substitutes for the traditional game controller. You move around the game, jump, crouch, fire, reload and more using the keyboard letters, number and arrows as well as your mouse in order to control these movements. A detailed list of all of the key controls is easily found on the SkillGround website.  One of the most important keys to know about is the Dash key (F). By pressing the F-key, known as the Dash key, on your keyboard you will achieve a burst of speed.

Speed is one of the most important factors in the game of WarPath, so it is incredibly important that you understand how the Dash key works and that you use it well. With speed, you can ensure that your enemies cannot sneak up on you and you will also keep them guessing where you are. By pressing the F-key you may dash around quickly, keeping your enemies at bay. However, when you are dashing you must keep in mind that your dash energy is limited. If you dash too much then you will have to wait until your dash energy replenishes before you can dash again. Your enemies can use this waiting time to come after you so don't waste your dash energy. If you are at a disadvantage then you should use your dash energy to escape. You are at a disadvantage when you are below your enemies, so always try to dash up to a higher level of whichever map you are playing on.

There are several methods that you can use to prolong your dash energy. The first method is called Dash Hopping. You can make your dash energy last for a long time with Dash Hopping. In order to Dash Hop you must begin to dash and the second you reach top speed jump into the air. While you are in the air, press the fire button (left mouse weapon) in order to release your weapon. Releasing your weapon will keep you from using additional dash energy. You will continue to fly through the air at dash speed. As soon as you hit the ground, press the F-key again to continue dashing at top speed and then hop into the air again to continue the process. Another method to prolong your dashing is Dash Ramping. A Dash Ramp can be performed by racing towards a surface which is curved or angled up and then jumping when you are close to the surface. Your dashing momentum will propel you up, as when as bike goes off a ramp. Find the rest of the keyboard and mouse controls on the SkillGame website.

When a player is killed, his body is randomly respawned at one of several predetermined locations of the map on which you are playing. A respawned player can not be damaged during the first two seconds, but may move around so it is important to use these two seconds to dash away from any close dangers. It is also important to stay at high ground. This makes it easier to see your opponent coming. If you are at low ground, be sure you are looking up in order to avoid attacks.

There are quite a few weapons available for use in WarPath. A player may hold more than one weapon at a time and may shuffle through them using the mouse wheel or number keys. Weapons like the Violator, Judge and Javelin are nice because they will kill an enemy in one shot. It is always good to pull off the first shot because in a tied game that has gone into Sudden Death Overtime, the player with the first shot of the game wins if nobody scores in the overtime round. Other weapons like the Wolverine and the Vanguard are nice for finishing off injured players or injuring large groups because they can spray entire areas.

WarPath can be played in many play modes. A single player may play in a Score Based game against the computer or in a progressive tournament where an unlimited number of players compete for a top score against the computer in order to win a prize that grows larger and larger the more people who enter. Multiplayer games can be played as 1 vs. 1 matches, Deathmatches with up to eight players, each competing for himself, or Teamplay with two teams of up to four players, each competing against the other team. Finally, you can play WarPath in Practice Mode in order to strengthen your skills against the computer.
